Great high trail

Information

This classic mountain hike is suitable for families with a little surefootedness. The view of Lake Starnberg, Munich and the mountain panorama from the Wendelstein to the Zugspitze is captivating. From the mountain station (as described in trail no. 2 ‘Kleiner Höhenweg’) via the Brauneck summit cross and below the Schrödelstein to the Latschenkopf junction.

The trail continues past the upper end of the chairlift, then follows a short, steep ascent, flanked by mountain pines, to the Stangeneck, and you are already on the mighty mountain range. With almost no ascent, you first reach the Kirchstein and then the Latschenkopf (1,712 m). From here, follow the rocky path through mountain pines down to the Probstalmsattel. Way back: Turn left here to the Idealhanglift and the Stie-Alm. Continue on trail no. 1 ‘Panoramaweg’ to the mountain station.
