Xaver Lankes - Freestyle

Xaver Lankes - Freestyle
Bad Tölz Ski Club
Xaver was born in 2008 and lives in Schaftlach. He skied for the first time at the age of three and joined the Bad Tölz ski club at the age of six, initially in the classic alpine section.
At the age of 10, he switched to the freestylers, who feel most at home on the moguls. He was particularly attracted by the highly complex jumps, which he has now mastered himself.
His sporting successes:
- Xaver has been riding freestyle, moguls, in the German national team since 2023.
- Xaver has qualified for the Junior World Championships twice so far. His best result in 5 starts was 11th place in Team Duals in 2025.
- So far, he has competed in five European Cups and several FIS races. His best result was a FIS podium (3rd place in Mühlbach)
- Xaver is the reigning German U18 champion in the single and dual moguls and third in the adult category.

Cork 720 at Garland
Xaver trains on snow as often as possible from September to June. In the fall more often in Scandinavia, in early summer in the main Alps and whenever possible on the Brauneck. Summer is characterized by trampolining and training on the water jump. He trains specific strength and speed up to six times a week.
Xaver jumped his first straddles, helis and backflips at Garland. The Brauneck is Xaver's home and he always likes to come back to where his roots are after spending time abroad.
His tips and recommendations
- Don't be afraid to ride the mogul slope at Garland. And if you are training - just join in!
- Even if you don't stick with it, it's a great opportunity to learn a lot.
And so it goes on with him:
Xaver's goal this winter is to make the finals in most of the upcoming European Cups when the time comes to fight for good places in the World Cup and one day, if everything goes well, to take part in the Olympic Games.
Even though mogul racing is rather exotic in Germany, the international competition from Scandinavia, North America and Asia is extremely strong and Xaver has to hold his own against them.
His rock in the surf is Ferdl Eichner when it comes to training. Ferdl is the "janitor" at Garland and, alongside the Bad Tölz Ski Club, is an absolutely vital building block in Xaver's career.
On the industry side, Xaver is supported by Sweet Protection, Kästle, Sun Valley, Hestra, Look and Dalbello. Xaver is also sponsored by MIG Fonds, Venture Capital in Pullach.
